How to protect consumers and business on the internet
The Croatian Chamber of Commerce – Rijeka, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law in Rijeka, announces the seminar "How to protect consumers and business by compliant online information to buyers", which will be held on Friday, 15 March 2019. from 13:30 to 16 hours at the local CCC branch in Rijeka, at the address Bulevar oslobođenja 23. What are the most common mistakes when informing consumers on their key rights and obligations, which laws prescribe the contents of the traders' web pages and what are the sanctions in case of non-compliance, are only some of the questions which will be answered by Assoc. Participation of the Dean Prof. Dr. Vesna Crnić-Grotić at the yearly meeting of the Council of Europe Chairs of monitoring and advisory bodies
The Dean of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka Prof. Dr. Vesna Crnić-Grotić participated at the annual meeting of the Chairs of monitoring and advisory bodies of the Council of Europe with the Secretary General Mr Thorbjørn Jagland held on 4 February 2019 in Strasbourg. Dean Crnić-Grotić participated at the meeting in her capacity of the Chairperson of the Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages (ECRML). The participants exchanged their experiences on work done so far as well as discussed the possibilities of deepening their cooperation.

Students learn about novelties in Croatian pension system
On Friday 11 January 2019 at our Faculty the invited lecture by Ms. Nada Rupčić, Head of the Regional Office of the Croatian Institute for Pension Insurance in Rijeka, was dedicated to pension system. Senior students who will soon enter the labour market heard about the challenges in organising a sustainable and just pension system and received practical and interesting information on new amendments to the Pension Insurance Act which entered into force from the beginning of this year.
New EU Project at the Faculty of Law in Rijeka about sport diplomacy
Following the European Commission’s approval of financing the Erasmus + collaborative partnership project titled Promoting a Strategic Approach to EU Sport Diplomacy, the two-year agreement was signed during December 2018.
Justice project PSEFS presented in Brussels
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivana Kunda and Assist. Prof. Dr. Sandra Winkler participated on behalf of the Faculty of Law in Rijeka at the presentation of the Justice project PSEFS – Personalized Solution in European Family and Succession Law (No. 800821-JUST-AG-2017/JUST-JCOO-AG-2017), held in Brussels on 14 December 2018.
Erasmus + Mobility Agreement signed with Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia)
The University of Rijeka signed the Erasmus + Mobility Agreement with the Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) for the field of law. The agreement was signed for the period 2019 to 2021 and includes student mobility for the purposes of studies and and teaching staff mobility for teaching.
